Welcome to Real Enterprise Solutions' eKnowledge
Management site.
Where We Came From
eKM is a rapidly developing tool with a great deal of functionality and
a great deal of planned functionality. It was originally conceived
by Matt Roberts, and designed in a brainstorming session with a group
of benched developers. Our goal was to address several knowledge
and personnel management needs that kept resurfacing during a
transitional time in our company.
Where We Are
With the release of eKM 1.0 we have a tool that addresses the most
pressing needs of our company. Even before the release the tool
has been useful for its intended purposes. We are particularly
pleased with the fully web-based interface--any consultant,
anywhere in the world with nothing more than a standard web
browser can not only access information, but update their own
information. We believe that this will greatly improve the
accuracy and timeliness of the information we have about each
consultants ability, thus allowing managers and proposal
engineers a clear picture of the company's most valuable resource.
Where We're Going
Every line of code in the product is written with an awareness
that one day this application will be in production in hundreds
or thousands of companies. Design decisions, while stressing
the goal of filling our own company's immediate needs, are
made with an eye on scalability and packagability. Our goal
is to have nothing less than a fully marketable Professional
Services Automation tool which can be delivered either as a
traditional on-site package or provided through an Application
Service Provider arrangement.
