The idea of "Division-go-rounds" is to have a carnival ride that is basically a merry-go-round, except that it is suspended from the center, and has a number of seats spaced evenly around a circle. The "patter" is that you have to put the same number of people in each seat, or the thing will be off-balance and kill someone.

The ride operator has the option of herding people to any of several division-go-rounds (each d-g-r has a different number of seats). The idea is that they are to pick a d-g-r that has a number of seats which will go evenly into the number of people waiting for the ride. There could be variations where they can split the people up however they want among the various d-g-r's.

This could be implemented in either software or hardware. With hardware, they could test their solutions by spinning the thing and seeing if it topples over.
