• Portrait of General Sir Frederick Stanley Maude (1884–1917); he replaced General Charles Townshend in command of the Mesopotamia Expeditionary Force in 1916, after the latter's surrender at Kut-al-Amara, and resumed the British offensive up the Tigris River.
