This journal cover, painted in blue, beige, and orange, depicts a lavishly curtained stage on which a commedia dell’arte actor stands with three enormous oranges as three other actors peek out from the wings. Golovin’s cover design appeared on the 1915 and 1916 issues of the journal after Meyerhold had a falling out with Yury Bondi, the designer of the 1914 covers. See book: p. 53; figure 13
