Screenshot of an iOS workflow to append clipboard text

From Writing Workflows: Beyond Word Processing by Tim Lockridge and Derek Van Ittersum

  • Using the Workflow app's simple visual interface, a writer can automate multi-step tasks. Here, the depicted Workflow appends selected text to whatever is currently saved to the clipboard. To do this without the Workflow app, a writer would have to select and copy text, paste it into a document, select and copy additional text, paste that at the end of the document, and then copy everything to the clipboard. This workflow replaces all of those steps with a single action.
