A Good Chance

From Canoes: A Natural History in North America by Mark Neuzil and Norman Sims

  • Two men in a canoe hunt a buck on the shore of the Adirondack Mountains. Currier & Ives published Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait’s (1819–1905) paintings of “American Hunting Scenes” as lithographs around 1863. These images played a large part in attracting sportsmen to the area in the early twentieth century.
