Salmon Come Home

From A Song to Save the Salish Sea: Musical Performance as Environmental Activism by Mark Pedelty

  • Dana Lyons' song "Salmon Come Home", which was written about a small Athabaskan Village (Tyonek, Alaska) struggling to stop a proposed coal mine in the Chuitna River. Another version of the video uses the work gold instead of coal to address the proposed gold and copper Pebble Mine in Brystol Bay, Alaska. Dana traveled to Tyonek and met with elders and community members to research the song.
