This report was compiled during the academic year of 2019-2020 for the University of Michigan (U-M) President's Commission on Carbon Neutrality by the Integral Group, an external firm selected by the Commission. The Integral Group performed an analysis on how U-M could transition its heat and power infrastructure, including natural gas, to a carbon neutral system across all three U-M campuses.

The full analysis report is available under the "Resources" tab below.

This report details their findings and identifies a solution that is based on sound financials; technically sound and reliable, while providing flexible long-term solutions; resilient and practical; and scalable and transferable to other institutions and organizations.

This publication is a result of work sponsored by the U-M President’s Commission on Carbon Neutrality to inform the PCCN’s final recommendations to U-M President Mark Schlissel. This publication does not reflect Commission-level recommendations and should not be interpreted as being recommendations of the PCCN nor carrying its endorsement.
