This volume presents ten papers given during a session of the European Association of Archaeologists in Bournemouth in 1999. The theme of the session was "relationships between objects", the aim of which was to discuss "relationships" existing between objects in the process of creating meaning in the archaeological record. The papers range from Mesolithic portable art in Scandinavia to food as ritual objects in ancient Italy.
